Candle tube
Paperboard, rigid lid200 minimum · 10 to 14 business daysA candle tube is a round rigid paper container with a deep slip lid and a die-cut collar that holds a glass candle jar still, so the candle ships and sits on a shelf in the same box. We produce them from 200 units in 10 to 14 business days after proof, on 0.08 to 0.12 in spiral wound board, most often for 8 and 12 ounce jars.
When to choose it, and when not to
Choose a candle tube when the candle is sold as a gift or on a shelf where the box does the selling, and a square carton looks wrong next to a round jar. A tube with a collar takes a glass jar through a carrier inside a mailer without a rattle, and on the counter it stands beside the jar as a keepsake. Matte black with a foil logo and a kraft tube with one color are the two looks that sell most; both take the same collar.
Choose a candle shipper box when the candle is sold online only and the box is thrown away, since an E-flute mailer with a cradle costs less to make and to ship. Choose a candle carton when the shelf needs a rectangular footprint and you want the box to ship flat.

Questions people ask
Will the jar survive shipping in it?
In a mailer, yes. The collar holds the jar at the shoulder so it cannot move sideways, and a foam or paperboard disc at the base takes the drop. The tube on its own is a retail box, not a shipper. Put it inside a corrugated mailer with 0.5 inch of clearance before it goes through a carrier.
How do I tell you the jar size?
Send the jar's widest diameter, usually at the lid, and its total height with the lid on. Or send us a jar and we measure it. We add 0.125 inch to the diameter and 0.25 inch to the height and cut the collar to the shoulder profile. A photo beside a ruler works if you cannot mail the jar.
Can the inside of the lid be printed?
Yes. The inside of the lid is a printed disc that the buyer sees as they lift it, and it is where a burn instruction, a scent note or a thank you does the most work. It prints on the same wrap sheet, so there is no extra process.
Kraft or wrapped?
A kraft tube with one color direct print is the fastest and reads as handmade. A wrapped tube in matte or soft-touch with foil reads as a premium fragrance line and costs more in wrap and time. Both hold the same jar; the choice is about your price point and where the candle sells.
Is the tube recyclable?
The board, wrap and collar are recyclable as mixed paper. A soft-touch lamination is a thin plastic film on the wrap and a foam disc is not paper; if full paper recyclability matters, choose a matte varnish and a paperboard base disc and the whole tube goes in the paper bin.
How is a candle tube different from candle boxes?
The candle tube is round: a spiral-wound rigid paper tube on a 0.08 or 0.12 in wall with a deep slip lid and a collar at the jar shoulder, delivered assembled, and the buyer often keeps it. Candle boxes are square folding cartons on 20 or 24pt SBS with a lock base and a collar, shipped flat and recycled after opening. Both start at 200 units in 10 to 14 business days after proof. For a gift candle where the pack sells it, the tube. For volume retail, the carton.
