Tie boxes
18pt SBS300 minimum · 10 to 12 business daysA tie box is a shallow gift carton sized for a folded necktie, with a wide flat footprint rather than the tall proportions most folding cartons run. We produce them on 18pt SBS from 300 units in 10 to 12 business days after proof, in a two-panel tray-and-lid or a single tuck-top format. A standard folded tie fits a 9 by 3.5 by 1.25 inch box.
When to choose it, and when not to
Choose a tie box for a folded necktie sold as a gift item, particularly around Father's Day and the winter holidays when ties get bought as single gifts rather than restocked in bulk on a hanger. The wide, shallow shape and a fold channel in the tray keep the tie from creasing at the wrong point, which matters more here than on most apparel since a crease line on silk shows.
Choose a two piece lid and base rigid box instead if you want the box itself to be a keepsake rather than opened once and set aside, since rigid board reads as a gift kept, not a gift wrapped. Choose a garment bag if the tie ships alongside a full outfit rather than as a standalone gift.

Questions people ask
Does the tie need to be folded a specific way to fit?
The tray's fold channel is cut to a standard single-fold pattern, tie in half lengthwise once, which fits most standard and slim ties. If you run an unusually wide or narrow tie width, tell us and we adjust the channel to it.
Can it fit a pocket square or tie clip alongside the tie?
Yes, a small side compartment or a die-cut slot for a tie clip is a common add to the tray. Tell us what's going in alongside the tie and we lay out the tray to fit both.
Tuck top or two-piece lid?
A tuck top is the lower-cost option and works fine for most retail gift sets. A two-piece lid and base, like the top and bottom of a shoe box, feels more like a keepsake and suits a higher price point tie or a bundled gift.
Can this work for a rolled tie instead of folded?
Yes, we design a tube-style box for a rolled tie on request, taller and narrower than the standard flat tray version. It's a different dieline, so let us know upfront which format you want.
Does it come with tissue paper inside?
Printed or plain tissue is available as an add, laid over the tie before the lid closes. It's a nice touch for a gift box but not included standard.
How is a tie box different from the two piece lid and base box?
The tie box is a shallow folding carton on 18pt SBS, 20pt for its own two-piece version, with a die-cut tray that has a fold channel for the tie, shipped flat and glued, from 300 units in 10 to 12 business days after proof. The two piece lid and base box is a wrapped rigid box on 1200 or 1500 gsm board, delivered assembled, that the buyer keeps, from 200 units in 12 to 14 business days. For retail ties, the tie box. For a wedding party gift or a premium tie, the rigid box.
