When to choose it, and when not to

Choose a printed garment bag for a fashion brand, boutique, or dry cleaner shipping or transporting finished apparel on the hanger, where the garment needs to stay covered and unwrinkled rather than folded into a box.

Choose a printed poly bag or a folded-apparel mailer instead for garments that ship folded rather than on a hanger, since the hook cutout and gusseted length of this format only make sense for hanging apparel.

Questions people ask

Does the bag actually keep dust and moisture out during shipping?

It protects against dust, light moisture, and general handling in transit, but it's not a fully sealed waterproof barrier, so it's built for standard shipping and storage conditions rather than prolonged wet exposure.

What's the difference between the 40 inch and 54 inch lengths?

40 inches suits shirts, dresses, and most standard apparel. 54 inches is sized for coats, suits, and longer garments that need more hanging length to stay uncreased.

Can the hook cutout fit any hanger style?

The standard cutout fits a typical wire or plastic hanger hook. If you're using a wider designer hanger or a specialty hook shape, let us know the dimensions and we can adjust the cutout.

Is frosted or clear film better for a retail-facing garment bag?

Clear shows the garment through the bag, which some boutiques prefer for a see-through retail look. Frosted gives a more branded, opaque presentation where the printed design is the focus rather than the garment itself.

Can the bag be recycled?

Standard LDPE poly is recyclable through store drop-off programs, the same stream that takes retail shopping bags. It isn't typically accepted through curbside residential recycling.

What's the minimum order if I only need bags for one hanger length?

250 units is our minimum per size and design. If you only need one length, that's the full order, and there's no need to split across both lengths unless you're stocking both.

How is a garment bag different from a printed poly bag?

The garment bag covers clothing on the hanger: 1.5 mil LDPE, clear or frosted, side gusseted for coats and suits, 40 or 54 inches long, with a die-cut hole for the hanger hook, from 250 units in 8 to 10 business days after proof. The printed poly bag holds folded garments and small goods, flat or gusseted, with a self-seal strip or zip, from 500 units in 8 to 10 business days. Hanging garments need the garment bag; folded ones go in the poly bag.
