Literature mailer box
E-flute, slim, one color200 minimum · 10 to 12 business daysA literature mailer box is a slim E-flute corrugated mailer, 0.75 to 1.5 inches deep, sized to a stack of letter or A4 sheets, a catalog or a press kit. We produce them, printed one color, from 200 units in 10 to 12 business days after proof. The common size is 12 by 9.5 by 1 inch, which takes letter paper with a quarter inch to spare each side.
When to choose it, and when not to
Choose a literature mailer when paper needs to arrive flat and un-creased: press kits, investor packs, sample swatch books, onboarding folders, printed proposals, certificates. A stack of 60 sheets is about half an inch thick and goes in a 1 inch box with a card slot on the floor for a cover letter. It is stiffer than a cardboard envelope and cheaper to ship than a full mailer. A one color logo on the lid is enough for the job.
Choose a book mailer box when the contents are a bound book rather than loose sheets, since the wraparound grips the corners in a way a tuck lid cannot. Choose an inside printed mailer when the pack is a gift or a launch kit and the opening needs to look like more than a document.

Questions people ask
What size fits letter paper?
Letter is 11 by 8.5 inches, so a 12 by 9.5 inch box gives a quarter inch each side to get the sheets in and out without catching a corner. A4 is 11.7 by 8.3, so a 12.5 by 9 inch box does the same job. We produce one size for both if you ship internationally.
How many sheets fit in a 1 inch box?
About 100 sheets of 100 gsm office paper, or a 60 page saddle stitched catalog with a cover, or a 20 sheet press kit in a presentation folder. Coated stock is thicker, so a 60 page catalog on 170 gsm gloss needs 1.25 inches.
Is one color enough?
For a document mailer, almost always. A single color wordmark on the lid is read once and the box is set aside. If the pack is doing sales work, two colors or a full color lid lift it, and the lead time stays at 10 to 12 business days.
Can you add a slot for a business card or a letter?
Yes. A paperboard pocket glued to the inner floor holds a business card, a cover letter or a USB drive so it does not slide under the catalog. It is one added part and ships assembled in the flat box.
Will the sheets arrive flat?
Yes. E-flute is about 0.06 in thick and a slim box is stiff along its length, so it does not fold in a mail bag the way a cardboard envelope can. Keep the box depth within a quarter inch of the stack so nothing shifts.
How is the literature mailer box different from the book mailer box?
The literature mailer is a slim box with a front tuck lid and a thumb notch, 0.75 to 1.5 inches deep, sized for loose sheets, catalogs, press kits and certificates, with an optional pocket or card slot glued to the floor for a cover letter. The book mailer box is a wraparound cut to a book's trim size and spine thickness so a bound book cannot move and its corners are held. Both are E-flute from 200 units in 10 to 12 business days after proof. Paper that must arrive flat suits the literature mailer; books, planners and records suit the book mailer.
