Hat box
1200 gsm rigid board, round construction200 minimum · 12 to 14 business daysA hat box is a round, deep rigid box built to hold a hat's shape without crushing the brim or crown, wrapped in printed or matte paper the same way as our other rigid boxes but built on a round rather than rectangular former. We produce them on 1200 gsm rigid board from 200 units, ready in about 12 to 14 business days after proof.
When to choose it, and when not to
Choose a rigid hat box for a milliner, hat brand, or luxury retailer where the hat's shape needs real protection and the round box itself reads as part of a premium unboxing, not just a shipping container.
Choose a simple corrugated shipping carton instead if you're shipping hats in bulk to a retailer rather than direct to an end customer, since the wrapped rigid construction here is built for presentation, not for the lowest-cost bulk freight option.

Questions people ask
Does the box actually protect the brim shape during shipping?
The round rigid construction holds its shape well under normal handling and stacking. For an especially delicate or wide brim, we'd suggest a fitted foam support inside, which we can design in.
What depth do I need for a structured crown versus a soft hat?
A structured crown needs full clearance so it isn't compressed. Tell us your hat's crown height and brim diameter and we'll size the box with enough room; a soft or foldable hat has more flexibility on exact depth.
Can the lid be a different color or finish than the base?
Yes, the lid and base wrap separately so they can run in different colors or finishes if you want that two-tone look.
Is 200 units really the minimum for a round rigid box?
Yes, 200 units is the minimum for the hat box. Round former tooling does not require a higher run than our rectangular rigid boxes.
Can I add a ribbon or tissue lining inside?
Yes, both are available as add-ons. A tissue lining is a lower-cost way to dress up the interior, and a ribbon pull tab helps lift the hat out cleanly.
How long does the round die tooling take before production starts?
It is scheduled as part of your quote. A structural sample to confirm the fit before the full run is available on request, and the quote confirms its timing and how it moves the delivery date.
How is the hat box different from the round rigid box?
The hat box is deep and built to protect a shape: 1200 gsm chipboard formed round, a telescoping lid that lifts fully off, depth sized to clear a structured crown, and an optional tissue lining or foam crown support. The round rigid box is lighter 1000 gsm board with a shallow 0.5 to 1 inch lid, for candles, bath products and small gifts. Both start at 200 units in 12 to 14 business days after proof. A hat with a brim needs the hat box.
