When to choose it, and when not to
Choose an eco kraft mailer when you want to say the box is recyclable and have it be plainly true. Unbleached board, water-based ink, no coating and a tuck lid that needs no tape means the customer drops the whole thing in the paper bin. Brands in natural skincare, refills, loose leaf tea, candles and plant care use it. The trade-off is print: one or two colors on brown board, no white, no photographs. That limit reads as honest, which is usually the point.
Choose a kraft mailer with a white inner liner if you need bright color inside, since the bleached liner is what makes color print true. Choose a compostable mailer for soft goods where a box is more than the job needs and a lighter parcel matters more than a box shape.

How is the eco kraft mailer box different from the kraft mailer box?
Three things. Both liners are unbleached, where the kraft mailer box can take a white inside liner. The ink is water-based flexo with no white or metallic. And there is no coating at all, not even a matte aqueous. The result is a box that is recyclable as mixed paper without any step to remove. Both start at 200 units in 10 to 12 business days after proof; choose the kraft mailer if you need full color or a bright inside.
Is it actually recyclable?
Yes, as mixed paper, which is the curbside paper stream in most of the United States. Corrugated board with water-based ink and no coating is generally accepted by paper mills. We do not claim compostable, because that depends on the local facility, and we do not print a certification mark we cannot back.
What colors can I print?
One or two colors from a standard flexo set: black, dark brown, deep green, navy, terracotta and a few others. Colors print darker on brown board than on white, so pale shades disappear. We show the ink on kraft on your digital proof rather than on a white screen.
Can the inside be printed?
Yes, one color on the inside liner, which is also unbleached kraft. A dark green or black pattern inside works well. There is no white liner, so a bright inside color is not possible on this box; for that, use the standard kraft mailer.
Is it as strong as the standard box?
Yes. It is the same E-flute at 32 ECT, about 0.06 in thick, and the same tuck lid with side locking tabs. Unbleached liner is slightly less smooth than white, which affects print sharpness, not strength. It carries up to about 5 pounds like any E-flute mailer.
What is the minimum order for a eco kraft mailer box?
