Product label (roll)

Matte art paper, permanent adhesive, roll-fed200 minimum · 5 to 7 business days

A product label is a roll-fed, pressure-sensitive label printed to your exact shape and size and wound so it feeds directly into a hand applicator or automated labeling line, rather than being applied one at a time by hand. We produce them, printed on matte art paper with a permanent adhesive, from 200 units, ready in about 5 to 7 business days after proof.

When to choose it, and when not to

Choose a roll label for any product that needs a printed label applied to a jar, bottle, box, or pouch, especially if you're running the label through an applicator or a labeling machine rather than sticking each one on by hand.

Choose direct print on your packaging instead if you're already printing a folding carton or pouch. Adding a separate label is an extra step and cost that isn't needed once the packaging itself carries your branding.

Questions people ask

Can you cut labels to a custom die shape rather than a standard rectangle?

Yes, send us your shape or product outline and we'll have a custom die made for it. There's a small one-time die charge on a first order for a shape we haven't cut before.

Will the roll format work with our specific labeling machine?

Tell us your machine's make and model, or its core size and wind direction requirements, and we'll wind the roll to match so it feeds correctly.

Do you offer a waterproof or oil-resistant label for a product that gets handled wet?

A gloss lamination overlay adds water and light oil resistance over the standard matte stock. Tell us your product's specific exposure and we can recommend the right finish.

What's the minimum for a label that changes with each product batch, like a lot number?

Variable data printing for lot numbers or batch codes is available. Minimums and lead time can shift slightly depending on how much of the label changes run to run, so ask us for specifics on your use case.

Can we get a sample roll before committing to the full order?

Yes. Every order includes a free digital proof, and you can ask for a printed proof with your quote to check color and fit before the full run.

How does pricing change between 200 units and a much larger run?

Per-unit cost drops meaningfully at higher quantities since roll label printing has real setup costs. We can quote a few quantity breaks side by side so you can see where the pricing curve flattens.

How is a product label different from a sticker and label sheet?

Product labels are made for application at volume. They are matte art paper with a permanent adhesive, die cut to your shape and wound on a roll for a hand applicator or a labeling line, from 200 units in 5 to 7 business days after proof. The sticker and label sheet is for the packing bench: kiss-cut stickers on paper, kraft or white or clear vinyl, on sheets or small rolls of 250, with a removable adhesive option, for sealing tissue, closing bags or branding plain boxes, from 200 units in 10 to 12 business days. If the label carries product information on every unit, choose roll labels.
