Straight tuck end carton

18pt SBS200 minimum · 10 to 14 business days

A straight tuck end carton is a folding carton where both end flaps tuck in the same direction, so it stands with the front panel clean and opens from the top. We produce them on 18pt SBS from 200 units in 10 to 14 business days after proof. It is the standard carton for cosmetics, supplements and small retail products.

When to choose it, and when not to

Choose a straight tuck end for anything that stands on a shelf and is opened from the top: bottles, jars, tubes, small boxes. Both tucks facing the same way keeps the front panel unbroken for artwork.

Choose a reverse tuck end if you want the carton to open from the bottom as well, or an auto lock bottom if the product is heavy enough to push a tuck open. Choose a mailer if the carton will ship on its own.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between straight and reverse tuck?

On a straight tuck both flaps tuck toward the back, so the front panel is clean. On a reverse tuck they tuck in opposite directions, which makes the carton a little quicker to close on a line and lets it open from either end.

Which board should I choose?

18pt SBS for most products under 12 ounces. 16pt for small, light items like lip balm. 24pt for glass over 12 ounces or anything that needs to feel substantial.

Can I add a window?

Yes, either an open die-cut or a PET film window glued inside. Windows suit food and anything where the product sells itself.

Will it hold a heavy bottle?

Up to about 12 ounces on 18pt with tuck flaps. Heavier than that, choose 24pt or move to an auto lock bottom carton, which cannot push open.

Does it come glued?

Yes. The side seam is glued and the carton ships flat. You open it, tuck the bottom, fill it and tuck the top.

What is the minimum order for a straight tuck end carton?

200 units, and reorders carry the same minimum. Lead time is 10 to 14 business days after you approve the free digital proof.
