Pie box
Food-grade SBS, vent option300 minimum · 8 to 10 business daysA pie box is a shallow, wide folding carton sized for a whole pie, built on food-grade board with an optional window and vent holes to let steam escape from a fresh bake. We produce them from 300 units, ready in about 8 to 10 business days after proof.
When to choose it, and when not to
Choose a pie box for a bakery selling whole pies for pickup or delivery, where a shallow food-grade carton sized to your pie tin and rated for fresh-baked steam matters more than a general dessert box.
Choose a pastry box or an individual slice box instead if you're selling individual portions rather than whole pies, since a full pie box is sized specifically for a whole pie tin and wastes space and cost on smaller items.

Questions people ask
Should I get vent holes, or will that let the pie dry out?
Vent holes matter most for pies boxed while still warm, since letting steam escape prevents sogginess on the crust. If you always box fully cooled pies, vents are optional rather than necessary.
Does the box actually fit a standard 9-inch pie tin?
Yes, our 9-inch round size is built around standard pie tin dimensions with enough clearance to close the lid without pressing on the crust. Tell us your exact tin depth if it's a deep-dish style.
Can I get a window to show the pie without opening the box?
Yes, a PET window in the lid is available and is a popular choice for pies since the filling and crust design are often the selling point.
Is the interior coating actually greaseproof for a fruit or cream pie?
Yes, the food-grade coated interior handles typical pie fillings including fruit and cream. For a particularly wet or syrupy filling, we'd suggest also using a liner sheet or pan underneath.
Can you print required nutrition or allergen information?
We print whatever text you provide on the panel you specify, but confirming the correct required wording for your product and state is on your side.
Do you offer a rectangular box for a rectangular pie or tart?
Yes, a custom rectangular size for a tart or slab pie is available. Just send us your pan dimensions and we'll size the box to fit.
How is the pie box different from the cake box?
The pie box is shallow and wide, on food-grade SBS with a greaseproof interior, sized for a standard pie tin, with an optional window and die-cut vents for steam from a fresh bake, from 300 units in 8 to 10 business days after proof. The cake box is deeper 20pt SBS with lock corners, built to carry a layer cake on a board, from 200 units in 10 to 12 business days. Pies need the vents and the shallow depth; cakes need the height.
