Advent calendar box

Rigid board, 24 numbered doors300 minimum · 16 to 18 business days

An advent calendar box is a rigid paperboard structure with 24 numbered doors or drawers, each holding a small product, built for a seasonal countdown release. We produce them from 300 units on rigid board with a die-cut cavity tray sized to your product, doors printed and numbered, ready in about 16 to 18 business days after proof, which is a longer run than most of our boxes because of the door die-cutting and cavity tooling.

When to choose it, and when not to

Choose a custom advent calendar for a seasonal product drop where a 24-item countdown fits your line (beauty minis, small candles, jewelry, snack samples) and where you can commit to the longer 300-unit minimum and lead time a real die-cut structure needs.

Choose a simpler numbered gift-box set or a printed countdown card insert instead if 24 individually cavitied doors is more structure than your product or budget calls for, since the tooling cost on this format only pays off at meaningful volume.

Questions people ask

Do you fill the calendar, or do we?

You do. Tria supplies packaging only, so every calendar ships empty and you fill each cavity and close the doors on your end. Tell us the size of each product and we size the cavities to fit.

Can the 24 cavities be different sizes for different products?

Yes, the tray is die cut to your actual product mix, so door 1 can be a different size than door 14 if your countdown lineup varies. Just send us the dimensions for each item.

What's the difference between the flat panel and box format?

The flat panel is thin and meant to hang on a wall or lean against a shelf, which suits lighter, flatter products. The box format stands freestanding and has more depth, better for anything with height like a candle or a small bottle.

How far in advance should we order for a holiday season launch?

Given the 16 to 18 business day production lead time plus the die-cut tooling setup on a first order, we'd recommend starting the process by early September for a November release, and earlier if your product mix is still being finalized.

Can doors be resealed after opening, or are they one-time?

Standard doors use a light magnetic or friction hold meant for a one-time open per day. They're not designed to reseal invisibly like a fresh door, which is consistent with how most advent calendars work.

Is 300 units really the minimum, even for a first test run?

Yes, the die-cut tooling for 24 individually sized cavities is the main cost driver here, and it doesn't scale down economically below 300 units. A numbered box set without individual doors is a lower-minimum alternative if you want to test the concept first.
