Window stand-up pouch
3.5 mil laminate, clear window panel1,000 minimum · 10 to 12 business daysA window stand-up pouch is our standard stand-up pouch with a clear film panel built into an otherwise printed bag, so the product is visible without giving up the branding and shelf presence a fully printed pouch gives you. We run them on 3.5 mil laminate from 1000 units, ready in about 10 to 12 business days after proof.
When to choose it, and when not to
Choose a window stand-up pouch when your product's actual appearance, color, or texture is part of the sale (coffee beans, dried fruit, a colorful powder) and you want that visible without giving up a fully branded printed bag around it.
Choose a fully printed pouch instead if your product doesn't benefit from being seen, or if light exposure through the window would degrade it faster, since a window necessarily gives up some barrier and light protection in that section of the bag.

Questions people ask
Does the window affect the barrier protection of the rest of the bag?
The window section itself has less light and oxygen barrier than the printed laminate around it. For a product sensitive to light degradation over a long shelf life, a smaller window or a fully printed bag may serve better. Tell us your product and shelf-life needs and we'll advise.
Can the window be any shape, or does it need to be a simple rectangle?
A custom die-cut window shape is possible, but a simple rectangle or oval keeps tooling cost lower. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll quote accordingly.
How do you decide where to place the window on the bag?
Window placement is part of your artwork layout. We work with your design file or help you plan placement so the visible product frames well against the printed sections around it.
Is the zip track resealable, or is this a one-time-open bag?
The standard closure includes a resealable zip track, so the bag can be reopened and reclosed after the first use.
Can I get a smaller test batch before committing to 1000 units?
1000 units is our minimum for this format due to the print and window tooling setup. A printed sample run before full production lets you check the artwork and window placement without a full order commitment.
Does the window film match the printed laminate's finish, matte or gloss?
The window is clear film regardless of whether the surrounding print is matte or gloss finished, so the product shows through clearly without the coating's visual finish affecting it.
How is a window stand-up pouch different from a standard stand up pouch?
The window pouch is built around the window: a 3.5 mil laminate with a clear panel sized and placed to your artwork, a zip track, and print by gravure or digital at up to 10 colors, from 1,000 units in 10 to 12 business days after proof. A stand up pouch can also have a window, but it is a digital job from 200 units with a choice of PET/PE, kraft/PE or metallized film, so it suits smaller runs and products that do not need to be seen. Go with the window pouch when volume is there and the product sells on sight.
