When to choose it, and when not to

Choose a burger box for a quick-service or fast-casual spot doing dine-in, takeout, or delivery where the burger needs to hold its stack together and the box needs to survive a bag ride without the lid crushing the toppings.

Choose a simple paper wrap or a foil sleeve instead for a thinner sandwich or a smash-style burger with a lower stack, where the extra headroom and clamshell hinge of this box aren't doing much for you.

Questions people ask

Vented or solid lid, which should I pick?

Vented is worth it if you're doing any real delivery volume, since it lets steam escape and keeps the bun from going soggy on the ride. Solid is fine for dine-in or short-distance pickup where the box is opened within a few minutes.

Does the box actually fit a double stack or a tall specialty burger?

The standard size handles most single burgers with typical toppings. For a double patty or a tall specialty build, we'd recommend the large size, and if you're regularly running something taller than 3.5 inches, tell us and we can size a custom depth.

Is the grease-resistant coating food safe for direct contact?

Yes, it's food-contact grade and rated for direct contact with hot, greasy food without the grease soaking through to the outer print.

Can I get my logo on the inside of the lid too?

Yes, we can print inside the lid as well as outside. The inside lid is a common spot for a short brand message or a QR code to a review or loyalty page, since it's the first thing the customer sees on opening.

How does this compare in cost to a plain unprinted clamshell?

A custom printed box costs more per unit than a plain stock clamshell. The gap depends on your print colors and order size, and we can run both quotes side by side so you can weigh the branding value against the cost difference.

Will the box hold up in a delivery bag for 20 to 30 minutes?

Yes, that's within normal range for this structure and the vented lid option. For anything regularly running longer than that, we'd suggest also asking about our insulated bag liners.

How is the burger box different from the take out box?

The burger box is a one-piece hinged clamshell with 1.75 inches of headroom for a stacked burger, a vented or solid lid and a friction tab, in grease-resistant kraft or 18pt SBS, printed offset, from 500 units in 10 to 12 business days after proof. The take out box is a lock-corner kraft box with a tuck top or gable handle, for full meals and fried food, printed flexo, from 200 units in 10 to 12 business days. A burger counter suits the clamshell; a mixed menu suits the take out box.
